Flushing, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team was handed its fourth straight loss overall and third straight Skyline Conference defeat on Sunday with a tight 5-4 loss on the road at Yeshiva. Freshman

Jessalyn Goetz (Bethel, N.Y.) scored singles wins for the Knights.
Mount Saint Mary got off to a good start on the day after winning two of the three doubles matches contested. The top pair of
Michelle Carnovale (Massapequa, N.Y.) and
Victoria Clay (Saint James, N.Y.) earned and 8-5 victory, while Goetz and
Emily Quinn (Montgomery, N.Y.) also scored an 8-5 victory at the third position.
The Knights saw Yeshiva take the top four singles positions in the contest, with Carnovale suffering her first singles defeat of the season with a 6-7 (5-7), 3-6 loss at the top flight.
Canzone moved to 5-2 on the season in singles action and to 3-1 in conference play with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking at the fifth position. Goetz won her first singles match of the season against the Maccabees, outlasting her sixth position opponent 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).
Sunday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 4-5 overall on the season and to 1-3 in league action. Next up for the Knights is a non-conference tilt with Berkeley Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
