Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team returned to action with a 6-3 home Skyline Conference win over visiting Sarah Lawrence on Sunday. The Knights won the top four singles positions in the match and first and second doubles to secure the victory.
 
Senior Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) continued his strong campaign on Sunday with a win at the top singles position. He scored a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top flight for his third straight singles triumph and his sixth win on the season. Through seven matches as a senior, Anastasi holds a 6-1 mark at the top position for the Knights.
 
At second singles, sophomore Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win for the Knights, moving his season record to 3-4 on the season. Classmate Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the third spot and Owen Heath (Jamestown, R.I.) won his second straight match with a 6-2, 6-0 fourth singles victory.
 
In doubles action, Anastasi and McGorty teamed for an 8-0 blanking of the top pair from Sarah Lawrence and moved to 2-5 at the top position this season. Heath and Terry followed at the second spot to score an 8-2 victory for the Knights.
 
Sunday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 2-5 overall on the season and to 1-2 against conference opponents. The Knights return to action on Tuesday when they travel to York for a non-conference match with the Cardinals. Match time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
