Troy, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team got back into the win column on Thursday afternoon with an impressive 8-1 road Skyline Conference win at Sage. Senior
Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) picked up his ninth straight singles wins for the Knights.
Anastasi cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the top singles position on Thursday as he moved to an impressive 12-1 in singles competition this season. Anastasi has won nine of his last 10 singles decisions for the Knights and holds a 6-1 record against conference opponents for the Mount.
Sophomore
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) extended his own winning streak against the Gators, picking up his sixth straight singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 second singles win. He moves to 8-4 on the season in singles play, including 5-2 against league foes.
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) got back into the win column with a 6-3, 6-3 third position victory that moved him to 6-6 overall and 5-2 against league opponents. Freshman
Kyle McIntyre (Drexel Hills, Pa.) outlasted his opponent from Sage at fourth singles with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6), giving him his second conference win of the season.

Miyanna Vernon (Liberty, N.Y.) and
Joe Ryan (Wantagh, N.Y) completed the singles sweep with 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) and 6-0, 6-1 singles wins at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
The Knights opened the day with wins in two of the three doubles matches to head into singles play with a 2-1 lead. The top pair of Anastasi and McGorty won their fifth straight match together with an 8-0 victory, while McIntyre and Ryan posted an 8-1 third doubles win as they moved to 6-3 as a unit on the season.
Thursday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 7-6 overall on the season and to 4-3 in Skyline Conference play. The Knights close out the regular season on Saturday when they play host to Farmingdale State. Match time with the Rams is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
