Newburgh, N.Y. – After two straight road meets, the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team returned home on Saturday afternoon and suffered a 121-67 non-conference loss to visiting King's (Pa.). Sophomore
Robert Kohlus (wading River, N.Y.) won two events for the Knights.
Kohlus won two of the four events for the Knights on Saturday, taking the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly. His wins came in times of 1:52.15 and 1:59.93 for the Mount. Classmate
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) also turned in a strong swim with a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 23.15 seconds.
Senior
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) added a win in the 200-yard individual medley for the Mount, while
Ryan Ward (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored first place points for the Mount in the 500-yard freestyle. Barber's win came in 2:17.01, while Ward topped the field in 5:16.00.
Saturday's defeat drops Mount Saint Mary back to the .500 mark overall at 2-2 on the season. The Knights return to Skyline Conference competition on November 11 when they travel to Sarah Lawrence for a 1:30 p.m. meet with the Gryphons.
