Staten Island, N.Y. – Senior
Ryan Ward (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won two individual events and was one of five Knights to post a victory as the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team scored a 114-103 non-conference road win at Staten Island on Saturday afternoon.
Ward continued the strong start to his senior campaign on Saturday with victories for the Knights in both the 50 and 500-yard freestyle events. His sprint win came in 23.35 seconds, while the 500-yard win came in a time of 5:18.46.
Classmate
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) picked up a victory for the Mount in the 100-yard butterfly and added a second place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle. He bested the field in the butterfly event with a time of 56.69 seconds and swam a time of 11:56.33 in the freestyle.
Sophomore
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) picked up a win in the 200-yard individual medley on Saturday and collected second place points for the Knights in the 100-yard backstroke. He swam times of 2:08.99 and 1:00.01, respectively.
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) and freshman
P.J. Ramsey (Plantsville, Conn.) also added first and second place finishes for the Knights. Neugebauer won the 100-yard freestyle in 54.64 seconds and posted second place finishes in the 50-yard race in 23.56 and 100-yard breaststroke event in 1:909.48. Ramsey scored first place points in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.11 and followed Barber in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.00.
Junior
Philippe Noisy (New York, N.Y.) turned in a strong swim on Saturday as well, posting second place finishes for the Mount in the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.
Mount Saint Mary finished the day with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Ward, Ramsey, Barber and Kohlus posting a winning time of 3:35.80.
At 2-1 on the season, Mount Saint Mary returns home to the Kaplan Center Pool on November 4 for a non-conference meet with King's (Pa.) scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
