Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – A pair of Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis standouts competed over the weekend at the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament hosted by Skidmore. Senior
Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) and sophomore
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) represented the Mount at the two-day event.
Anastasi dropped a strong match to RPI's Clay Thompson 6-3, 6-4, while McGorty was topped by sixth seeded JT Wynne from Skidmore by a 6-0, 6-2 score on Saturday. Wynne would advance on the final of the singles event on Sunday.
The duo also put together strong effort in the doubles draw for the Knights. The pair was topped in an 8-5 heartbreaker by Sam Farber and Lars Scannell from Hamilton.
Following a strong effort against the top competition in the region, Anastasi, McGorty and the rest of the Knights will continue team competition on Wednesday at Ramapo. Match time with the Roadrunners is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
