Kings Point, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Swimming team saw a 46 dual Skyline Conference meet winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon with a 179-99 loss at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Marissa Catania (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and
Jessica Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.) each scored individual wins for the Knights.

Daigle won the 1,650-yard freestyle for the Knights against the Mariners, taking the longest event of the day in a time of 19:13.97. Catania posted her win for the Mount in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.09 and also finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:36.67.

After setting a new school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle against Bard on Friday, sophomore
Harley Illingworth (Northfield, N.J.) posted three runner-up finishes on Saturday against USMMA. She took second in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke with times of 1:03.97 and 2:21.15 and scored second place points in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:26.66.

Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and sophomore
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.) also turned in strong swims for the Knights with two second place finishes apiece. Zeoli finished as the runner-up in the 200 and 100-yard butterfly races with times of 2:31.82 and 1:08.25, while McNamee posted runner-up times of 19:51.48 and 5:38.87 in the 1,650-yard and 500-yard freestyle races.

Mount Saint Mary took second place in both relay races on Saturday, with the team of Illingworth, Catania, Zeoli and
Allison Sciucco (Middletown, N.Y.) swimming a time of 1:57.33 in the 200-yard medley race and the squad of Sciucco, Catania,
Lauren Schroeder (Wantagh, N.Y.) and McNamee posting a time of 1:51.92 in the 200-yard freestyle race.

Saturday's defeat closes the dual meet portion of the schedule for Mount Saint Mary will an overall record of 10-5 and a Skyline Conference mark of 7-1. Next up for the Knights is the start of the Skyline Conference Championship on January 27. Day one at Purchase is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
