Danbury, Conn. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team pushed its winning streak to five matches on Wednesday with a hard fought 5-4 road win at Western Connecticut. Senior
Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshmen
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) and
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) each won their fifth straight singles matches.
Witke won at the second position on Wednesday and moved to 7-3 in singles matches with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win for the Knights. McGorty, who was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles and Terry scored a 6-4, 6-4 triumph for the Knights and moved to 5-2 on the season at fifth singles.

Joe Borden (Newburgh, N.Y.) picked up a 7-5 win at the second slot and McGorty teamed with
Chris Jaros (Marlboro, N.Y.) for an impressive 8-1 win at third doubles.
Wednesday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 8-3 overall on the season. The Knights will return to conference play on Saturday when they travel to Farmingdale State for a 1:00 p.m. match with the Rams.
