Purchase, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team scored its third straight victory on Sunday with an 8-1 road conference win at Purchase. Senior
Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) moved to 7-2 in singles play with a victory at the second position.
Dimmie, who is 5-2 at second singles this season, posted a 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 win for the Knights and teamed with junior
Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) at first doubles for an 8-5 victory.
Anastasi also continued his strong season in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the top spot and moved to 5-3 overall on the season in singles play.
Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won his third straight singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at third singles, with
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) scoring a 6-0, 6-3 victory at the fourth position. Freshman
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) picked up his sixth singles win of the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win at sixth singles.
In doubles play, McGorty and Witke teamed up at the second spot for an 8-3 win and Terry and senior
Joe Borden (Newburgh, N.Y.) posting an 8-5 at the third position. Borden and Terry moved to 3-0 as partners in 2016.
Sunday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 6-3 overall on the season and to 3-1 in league play. The Knights return home on Monday for a league tilt with St. Joseph's-L.I. Match time is set for 6:00 p.m.
