Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) collected wins at both the top singles and top doubles positions for the Knights.
Anastasi moved to 2-3 on the season at the first singles position with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 against the Gryphons. Anastasi also teamed up with senior
Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) at the first doubles position for an 8-1 win for the Knights.
Dimmie continued his strong senior season and moved to 5-2 in singles play on the year with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at second singles. Classmate
Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the third position and freshman
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) scored a 6-1, 6-0 win at the fourth spot.
Senior
Joe Borden (Newburgh, N.Y.) won at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-3 and
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) finished off the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the sixth position.
In doubles action, McGorty and Witke picked up an 8-1 win at the second spot and Borden and Terry teamed up for an 8-3 victory at third doubles.
Saturday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 5-3 overall and to 2-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Knights close out a busy week with a road league tilt at Purchase on Sunday. Match time with the Panthers is set for 1:00 p.m.
