Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Swimming teams will be back in the pool twice when they travel to Maritime on Friday evening and host Cazenovia on Saturday afternoon. Friday's meet is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Thorggs Neck, N.Y. with the home meet with the Wildcats set for 1:00 p.m. at the Kaplan Center Pool on Saturday.
MSMC Men At A Glance: The Mount Saint Mary men's team is coming off a strong showing at the Diamond City Invitational November 19 and 20. The Knights finished fifth overall with 305 points.
In dual meet competition, the Mount stands at 4-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 against league rivals. The Knights have won each of their last three decisions, including a 140-56 home win over Sarah Lawrence on November 12. Freshman
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) and junior
Jake Schoenherr (New Rochelle, N.Y.) each won a pair of events against the Gryphons.
MSMC Women at A Glance: The Mount Saint Mary women posted a fourth place showing out of 12 scoring teams at the two-day Diamond City Invitational. Sophomore
Harley Illingworth (Northfield, N.J.) had a standout weekend that included the school record in the 400-yard individual medley on Saturday.
The Knights will look to continue their dominance of the Skyline Conference Friday night and are in search of their 45
th straight win over a conference foe. The Mount's latest league win came on November 12 in a 115-88 home win over Sarah Lawrence. The Mount won four individual events against the Gryphons, with
Jessica Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.), Illingworth,
Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.) collecting victories in the meet.
What's Next: After Saturday's home competition with Cazenovia, Mount Saint Mary will be off from competition until January 13 when it travels to Montclair State. Meet time with the Red Hawks is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
