Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team returned to action on Friday evening and suffered a 122-83 conference loss at league rival Maritime. Junior
Jake Schoenherr (New Rochelle, N.Y.) continued his strong season, picking up two of the team's four individual wins.
Schoenherr earned his first win of the night in the 50-yard freestyle and followed that up later in the meet with a triumph in the 100-yard breaststroke. His freestyle win came in a time of 22.28 seconds, while his breaststroke victory came in 1:04.70.
Freshman
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) and junior
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) also scored wins for the Knights on Friday. Kohlus topped the field in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:10.50, while Barber picked up a victory in the 100-yard butterfly in 57.10 seconds. Barber finished off a solid night with a runner-up finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle and a third place showing in the 500-yard freestyle.
Ryan Ward (Brooklyn, N.Y.) turned in a strong showing with second place finishes in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.
Peter O'Malley (Yonkers, N.Y.) also scored second place points for the Knights in two events, placing second in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.), Kohlus, Ward and Schoenherr swam a time of 1:32.88.
Friday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 4-5 overall on the season and to 4-1 in conference action. The Knights will be right back in the pool on Saturday when they welcome Cazenovia to Newburgh. Meet time at the Kaplan Center is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
