Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming Team dropped a 131-60 road decision on Saturday afternoon at King's (Pa.), suffering its fourth straight dual meet decision.
Robert Kohlus scored the Mount's lone individual win, while
Ryan Ward (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up two runner-up finishes.
Kohlus topped the field in the 200-yar butterfly on Saturday, touching out first in a time of 2:07.88. He also placed fourth for the Knights in the 200-yard freestyle.
Ward turned in a strong day for the Mount with runner-up points in both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races. In the shorter race he posted a time of 1:58.33, before posting a time of 5:36.36 in the 500-yard swim.
Mount Saint Mary also received a second place showing from
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) on Saturday. He collected second place points for the Knights in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:28.11.
The Knights closed Saturday's meet in strong fashion with a second place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Ward, Barber, Kohlus and
Michael Neugebauer finished with a time of 3:38.95.
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 1-4 overall on the season. The Knights will return to conference action on Friday, November 11 when they travel to Purchase for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
