Bronx, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Swimming team scored a 123-86 non-conference road win at Lehman on Friday evening. The Knights won eight events in the meet, including seven individual wins.
Jessica Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.) won the Mount's first even of the night, taking the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:57.71. The Knights took the top three spots in the race, with Rachel Stone (Wallingford, Conn.) placing second and
Stephanie Adams (Liverpool, N.Y.) taking the third position.
Mount Saint Mary also took the top three positions in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle against the Lightning.
Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) won the 200-yard race in 2:14.74 and was followed by
Allison Sciucco (Middletown, N.Y.) in second and
Breanne Greaves (Hamilton, N.J.) in third.
Freshman
Lauren Schroeder (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the 100-yard event for the Mount on Friday, posting a winning time of 59.56 seconds. Sciucco claimed her second runner-up finish in the race with a time of 1:01.91 and
Danielle Hughes (Oakville, Conn.) came home in the third position.
Samantha McGregor (Highland Mills, N.Y.) won the 200-yard butterfly for the Knights in a time of 2:33.93 with Stone taking the 200-yard backstroke in 2:33.14,
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.) winning the 500-yard freestyle in 5:32.47 and
Marissa Catania (Rocky Hill, Conn.) topping the field in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:40.86.
Zeoli closed out a strong night for the Mount with a second place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:37.26, while Schroder touched out second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.28 seconds.
Mount Saint Mary sealed the win on Friday with a triumph in the 200-yard freestyle relay to close the night. The team of Sciucco, Greaves, McGregor and Hughes came home with a winning time of 1:58.22 for the Knights.
Friday's win moves Mount Saint Mary to 10-4 overall on the season. The Knights will close out the dual meet portion of the schedule on Wednesday when they welcome Mount Saint Vincent and Old Westbury to the Kaplan Center Pool. Meet time is set for 6:00 p.m.
