Bronx, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team was dealt its seventh straight dual meet defeat on Friday with a 144-79 non-conference road loss at Lehman. Sophomores
Jake Schoenherr (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) along with senior
Sam Watson (Groton, Conn.) all scored wins for the Knights.
Schoehnerr picked up the Mount's initial win of the night with a time of 23.19 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle. He went on to post a second place finish for the Mount in the 100-yard freestyle race, completing the event in 51.04 seconds.
Barber picked up his victory in the 200-yard butterfly on Friday, topping the field with a winning time of 2:14.22. Barber closed out a solid night for the Mount with a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, showing a time of 5:31.01.
Watson continued his strong senior season against the Lightning, besting the field in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:11.16. Watson added a second place finish for the Knights in the 200-yard freestyle, touching out in a time of 1:54.40.
Mount Saint Mary also received strong swims on Friday from
Christopher Sagan (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and
Steven Fejes (Stony Point, N.Y.). Sagan took second in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:41.12 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:21.46. Fejes placed third in the 1,650-yard race for the Mount and the 200-yard backstroke.
Friday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 3-9 overall heading into the final dual meet of the season on Wednesday against Mount Saint Vincent and Old Westbury. Meet time at the Kaplan Center Pool is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
