Christopher Sagan (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led the Mount with a pair of individual wins in the meet.
Sagan scored his first victory of the day early on Saturday, topping the field in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:10.92. He followed that up with a triumph later in the day in the 500-yard freestyle, touching out in a winning time of 5:22.49.
Sophomore
Jake Schoenherr (Scarsdale, N.Y.) continued his steady sophomore campaign on Saturday with a win in the 100-yard freestyle and a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle race. His winning time was 50.67 seconds and he showed a time of 23.14 seconds in the 50-yard race.
Mount Saint Mary also picked up three second place finishes against the Pioneers on Saturday.
Kyle Barber (Shelton, Conn.) followed Sagan in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:18.65 and also scored a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.99 seconds.
Matthew Gamboa (Huntington, N.Y.) showed a second place finish for the Knights in 100-yard breaststroke with a time 1:13.56 and
Ryan Verillo (Cheshire, Conn.) turned in a strong showing with a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Knights also picked up a relay victory on Saturday, scoring first place points in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet. The team of
Sam Watson (Groton, Conn.), Sagan, Barber and Schoenherr swam a winning time of 1:49.46.
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 3-4 overall in dual meet competition. The Knights will be off until the new year when they host Marywood on January 8.
