The Knights won 10 events in the meet, including a pair of individual wins from sophomore
Marissa Catania (Rocky Hill, Conn.).
Catania paced the Knights on Friday with victories in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke. Her initial win of the night came in a time of 2:36.36 before winning the breaststroke event in 1:14.37.
Danielle Hughes (Oakville, Conn.) followed in the second place in the IM, while Amanda Bocecki (Paramus, N.J.) placed third in the breaststroke event.
The Mount's first individual win of the night came in the 1,000-yard freestyle, where junior
Jessica Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.) topped the field by just over a half minute, posting a time of 11:55.58 for the Knights.
Stephanie Adams (Liverpool, N.Y.) took third place in the race for the Mount.
Freshman
Harley Illingworth (Northfield, N.J.) continued the strong start to her collegiate career by taking the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle on Friday. She won the race in 2:04.53 and was followed by teammate
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.) who took second in 2:06.98.
Nicole Gautieri (Coral Springs, Fla.) picked up a victory in the 100-yard freestyle for Mount Saint Mary in a time of 56.67 seconds, with
Lauren Schroeder (Wantagh, N.Y.) winning the 50-yard freestyle in 27.17 seconds, McNamee taking first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.40 and Rachel Stone (Wallingford, Conn.) collecting a win in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:55.11.
Allison Sciucco (Middletown, N.Y.) placed second for the Knights in the 100-yard freestyle race, with
Jessica McClure (West Haven, Conn.) placing second in the 500-yard race in 6:00.99. Junior
Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) also turned in a strong night with a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
Mount Saint Mary continued its dominance of the relay events this season, winning both the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle races. The team of Bocecki, Catania, Zeoli and Schroeder opened the night with a winning time of 2:01.78 and the squad of Sciucco, Hughes, Zeoli and Daigle closed the night with a time of 1:55.51.
At 7-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 against league opponents, Mount Saint Mary will return to action on Saturday for a non-conference meet at William Paterson. Meet time with the Pioneers is set for 1:00 p.m.
