Match ResultsNEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team (8-3, 3-0 Skyline) remained undefeated in Skyline Conference play on Wednesday when it shut out The Sage Colleges (0-7, 0-5 Skyline), 9-0, at the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts, holding down sole possession of first place in the conference.
The Knights opened the match with a quick three points by taking all three doubles matches. Senior
Greg Jacob (Ridgefield, Conn.) and junior
Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) took down Gerard Beaudin and Rick Butt, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles. Sophomores
Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Joe Borden (Newburgh, N.Y.) grabbed an 8-1 victory at flight two over Cory Alvarado and Robert Scott. Sophomore
Connor Bean (Glenville, N.Y.) and graduate student
Kevin Ryan (West Islip, N.Y.) rounded out doubles play with an 8-0 sweep of Khademe Osbourne and Alex Fernandez at third doubles.

Mike Balokoz (Milford, Conn.) and Bean each earned 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories at flights one, three and six, respectively. Dimmie defeated Butt at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Witke provided the Knights with a win at fourth singles by the score of 6-3, 6-2. Freshman
Gavin McNulty (Darien, Conn.), last week's Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, kept up his hot streak with a 6-1, 6-0 win at flight five.
The Knights have a busy weekend ahead of them, with a pair of Skyline Conference matches on the agenda. They will take on NYU-Poly in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 12, and then face off with St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Sunday, April 13, at home.
