Match Results

SAUGERTIES, N.Y. – Senior Greg Jacob (Ridgefield, Conn.) picked up wins at No. 1 singles and doubles on Tuesday, improving his career total to a program-record 78 wins, as he led the Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team (12-3) to an 8-1 non-conference victory over Bard College (4-7) Tuesday evening in the Knights' final tune-up before the Skyline Conference Championships.

In the final regular season match of his career, Jacob picked up wins 77 and 78 in his career. He teamed up with junior Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) to pick up an 8-6 victory in first doubles to kick off the night, and then rode the momentum for a 6-2, 6-2 win at top singles to set the record.

Sophomore Mike Balokoz (Milford, Conn.) and freshman Gavin McNulty (Darien, Conn.) picked up a win at No. 2 doubles over Kevin McDonald and Billy Kwon, 8-6, and sophomore Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Connor Bean (Glenville, N.Y.) won at third singles, 8-4.

Dimmie was victorious in his second singles match, defeating Ted Laport, 6-3, 6-4. Witke took down Kwon at No. 4, 7-6, 6-0, and McNulty grabbed a fifth-singles win over Max Meynig, 6-0, 6-0. Bean wrapped up singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Dan Krakovski at flight six.

The Knights head into the Skyline Conference Championships with their first-ever undefeated conference record (6-0) and first-ever regular season title. They also sit two wins shy of tying the program single-season wins mark of 14. They will host St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Thursday, April 24, at 5 p.m. on the Mount Saint Mary College Tennis Courts. Should they win, they will host the winner of Farmingdale State College and Yeshiva University on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, depending on their opponent, for a chance at their first Skyline title since 2008.
