Match ResultsPURCHASE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team (11-3) completed its undefeated Skyline Conference season, going 6-0 in conference play after defeating Purchase College (3-10, 1-5 Skyline), 9-0, Monday afternoon.
The Knights made quick work in doubles play to take a 3-0 lead over the Panthers, but singles play proved to be much more competitive. Senior
Greg Jacob (Ridgefield, N.Y.) defeated Riley Damerell, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, and junior
Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) beat Dylan DeBiase in a tough second singles match, 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore
Mike Balokoz (Milford, Conn.) had the longest match of the afternoon, going three sets with Pocholo Chavez at third singles and coming out on top, 7-5, 3-6, 11-9. Sophomore
Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also battled hard to take a 6-4, 6-4 victory at fourth singles over Lev Pravda. Freshman
Gavin McNulty (Darien, Conn.) defeated Danny De La Cruz handily at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2, and sophomore
Connor Bean (Glenville, N.Y.) wrapped things up with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over his own at flight six singles over Jason Wieder.
The Knights will take on Bard College tomorrow, April 22, in non-conference action to close out the regular season. They will then host St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Thursday, April 24, at 5 p.m. in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championships.
