GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's golf team participated in its first match of the spring, falling to The Sage Colleges in the Sage Spring Invitational, 330-368, Monday afternoon at Van Schaick Island Country Club.
Freshman
Owen Heath (Jamestown, R.I.) took the top spot overall, posting an impressive round score of 74 on the day.
Junior
Steven Etherton (Lawrenceville, N.J.) shot an 87 to take second on the Knights. Senior
Anthony Bollella (Brewster, N.Y.) had a score of 100 for the event, while junior
Trevor Kane (Stamford, Conn.) shot a 107.
The top scorer for the Gators was senior Zach Sullivan, who shot a 78, while graduate student Jeff Stopera posted an 80 for the day. Freshman Kevin Johnston carded an 85, while senior Richie Christman was next for Sage with an 87.
The Knights will play a couple more times this spring. Dates and locations for these spring events have yet to be determined.
