KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team (4-3) closed out the final day of its spring break trip to Florida with a split, falling to Colby-Sawyer College, 7-2, early in the day, and then bouncing back to take down Penn State Berks, 8-1, Thursday evening.

Sophomore Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was involved in the two wins for the Knights against Colby-Sawyer. He picked up a doubles victory at flight three with graduate student Kevin Ryan (West Islip, N.Y.), 9-7, over Matt Plouffe and Will Triebel, and then came out on top in his No. 4 singles match against Dean Boodakian, 7-5, 0-6, 10-6.

Witke picked up wins in both of those slots in the later match as well to contribute to the Knights' 8-1 win over Penn State Berks. This time, he won his No. 3 doubles match in a partnership with sophomore Joe Borden (Newburgh, N.Y.). Senior Greg Jacob (Ridgefield, Conn.) and junior Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) took care of business at No. 1 doubles, and sophomore Mike Balokoz (Milford, Conn.) and freshman Gavin McNulty (Darien, Conn.) grabbed a win at flight two. All three Knights doubles pairs won their respective matches by a score of 8-0.
