Meet Results

MADISON, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's swimming team (4-5) swam to a 126-67 victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson-College at Florham men's team (0-10), while the Mount women (6-3) pulled off a 77-42 defeat of the FDU-Florham women (0-10) Tuesday afternoon in the Ferguson Recreation Center.

The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Sam Watson (Groton, Conn.), junior Ryan Murray (Long Beach, N.Y.), senior Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y.) and senior Mark Bohlinger (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) took first in the opening event of the day with a time of 2:30.00. The win foreshadowed the rest of the event, as the Knights took home a top-place finish in each of the day's events.

Sophomore Christopher Sagan (West Hempstead, N.Y.) picked up individual wins in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:14.09), the 500-yard freestyle (5:50.24) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.97). Dowd was victorious in a pair of individual races, the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.50) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.05). Bohlinger also grabbed two wins himself, touching first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.46) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.41). Following suit, Watson also picked up wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.82) and the 100-yard backstroke (59.42).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Camilo Gonzalez (Elmont, N.Y.), sophomore Sean Sullivan (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), freshman Steven Fejes (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Murray closed out the day with a time of 1:44.83 to take the top place one final time.

A depleted FDU-Florham women's team was unfortunately unable to have participants in every event. Nevertheless, the Mount women put in a full effort to stay on the right track as Skyline Conference Championships approach. Just like the men, the women came out victorious in each of their events on Tuesday.

Freshman Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) put in a great effort to win the 200-yard freestyle at 2:10.77. Freshman Allison Sciucco (Middletown, N.Y.), junior Danielle Rodriguez (Highland, N.Y.) and freshman Amanda Bocekci (Paramus, N.J.) took the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.69, 28.02 and 28.16, respectively, to grab big points for the Knights. Bocekci was later victorious in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:10.26. The final individual event of the day was also produced a big score for the Knights, as they once again took the top three spots. Junior Meghan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.), junior Tara Kayal (Wayne, N.J.) and senior Alli Turnbach (Brick, N.J.) finished the 100-yard breaststroke in times of 1:23.66, 1:36.73 and 1:48.16, respectively.
