CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's swimming team (5-3) defeated Elms College (2-7), 118.5-84.5, while the men's team (3-5) fell to the Elms men (5-1), 113-72, in a non-conference dual meet Saturday afternoon at Partyka Natatorium.
The women's conquest included four individual victories and a pair or relay wins. They opened the meet by taking the top spot in the 200-meter medley relay, as the team of freshmen

Sarah Barbarula (Monroe, Conn.),
Allison Sciucco (Middletown, N.Y.) and
Amanda Bocekci (Paramus, N.J.) touched at a time of 2:25.47. Sophomore
Lauren Becerra (White Plains, N.Y.) followed with a victory in the 800-meter freestyle at 10:21.55.
The women took the top three spots in the 50-meter freestyle. Sciucco took first at 30.70, and then Bocekci touched next at 31.11, barely edging junior
Danielle Rodriguez (Highland, N.Y.), who took third with a time of 31.14. Freshman
Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) grabbed a win in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:18.81. Becerra took another win in the final individual event of the day, the 100-meter breaststroke, which she finished in a time of 1:28.67. The men had a rougher go of things on Saturday, grabbing just one individual victory and taking top-place points in the 200-meter freestyle relay. Sophomore

The Mount swimming teams next race on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in a dual meet at Fairleigh Dickinson-College at Florham. The teams are set to hit the pool at 2 p.m.
