NEWBURGH, N.Y.- The Mount Saint Mary women's swim team earns another victory, beating Drew University and York College in last night's home meet while the men claimed a victory over York college but fell to Drew.
Sophomore
Meghan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished the 200 freestyle first with a time of 2:09.10. Junior
Alissa Keyes (Trumbull, C.T.) earned first in the 200 IM with 2:36.85. Keyes took second in the 100 butterfly in 1:12.44, one second behind Drew's Kristin Zeigler, followed by teammate sophomore
Sarah Kelleher (Poughquag, N.Y.) in 1:27.51. Seaman earned second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.09 while sophomore
Danielle Rodriguez (Highland, N.Y.) finished third (1:03.83).
The Knights earned a one-two finish in the 100 backstroke with freshman
Elizabeth Stern (Nanuet, N.Y.) touching first (1:13.62) and senior
Rachel Johnson (Levittown, N.Y.) taking second (1:20.79). The 200 relay team, made up of Stern, junior
Deirdre Kenny (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Johnson and freshman
Lauren Becerra (White Plains, N.Y.) claimed first place by fifteen seconds with a time of 1:57.05. Becerra took first in the 500 freestyle clocking 5:42.95 and freshman
Sean Sullivan (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) also finished first in this event for the men, 5:41.02.
Freshman
Sam Watson (Gronton, CT) earned two first place finishes for the men. Watson touched first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.90 and clocked 1:01.46 in the 100 backstroke. Junior
Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y.) took second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.89 and teammate sophomore
Jason Lorch (Plainview, N.Y.) earned second place in the 100 freestyle. Junior
Scott Colello (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished second in a close race in the 100 freestyle clocking 58.01. The 100 breaststroke was a stellar event for sophomore
Ryan Murray (Long Beach, N.Y.) taking first in a time of 1:08.08.
The Knights host Elms College Saturday January 12 in Newburgh, New York. This meet is scheduled to start at 1p.m.
