WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Competing in their second meet in as many days, the Mount Saint Mary College men's and women's swimming teams fell to King's College on Saturday afternoon. The women lost by a score of 113-89, while the men fell 108-69.
On the women's side, the 400 yard freestyle relay team composed of sophomore
Meghan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.), senior
Deirdre Kenny (Brooklyn, N.Y.), senior
Rachel Johnson (Levittown, N.Y.) and freshman
Elizabeth Stern (Nanuet, N.Y.) raced to a first place finish (4:19.06). Freshman
Lauren Becerra (White Plains, N.Y.) was the lone individual winner, taking first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.82.
For the men, freshman
Sam Watson (Groton, Conn.), sophomore
Ryan Murray (Long Beach, N.Y.), sophomore
Jason Lorch (Plainview, N.Y.) and junior
Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y.) combined for a win in the 400 yard medley relay. Watson was the sole winner on the men's side, edging the field in the 200 yard backstroke (2:16.69).
The Knights return to action on Saturday, November 17, as they host Sarah Lawrence College in their home opener at 1:00 p.m.
