NEWBURGH, N.Y. – In their final home meet of the season, the Mount Saint Mary College women's swimming team posted a 116-83 win over Skyline Conference opponent, St. Joseph's College. The Knights improve to 9-3 overall and finish with a 4-0 record against Skyline competition.
The Knights were impressive in today's meet, capturing eight of the 11 events. The 200 yard medley relay team of junior
Brianna Perazella (Chesire, Conn.), sophomore
Allison Wyatt (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), junior
Kassie Kayal (Wayne, N.J.) and senior
Censi Danner (Saugerties, N.Y.) opened up the meet with a win in a time of 2:07.52.
Danner rounded out her record-setting week with two wins. Danner placed first in the 50 freestyle (26.24) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.95). Freshman Meagan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.) once again dominated the distance events, taking first in the 500 freestyle (5:59.51) and the 1000 freestyle (12:20.12).
Other individual event winners for the Mount included Perazella, sophomore
Amy Schaefer (Patchogue, N.Y.) and Wyatt. Perazella finished first in the 200 freestyle (2:13.37), Seaman captured the 100 freestyle (1:04.00) and Wyatt took the 100 breaststroke (1:14.14).
Next Saturday the Knights will compete in the Skyline Conference Championships, which is hosted at Suny College at Old Westbury. Competition is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
