NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Despite having the edge after the doubles play for the second straight day, the Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to Marywood University on Sunday afternoon. The Knights are now 2-4 overall.

Juniors Mike McNicholas (Milton, N.Y.) and Nathaniel Ahlberg (Catskill, N.Y.) were comfortable winners at second doubles, 8-4, while junior Zach Conlon (Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore Kevin Ryan (West Islip, N.Y.) paired for a second consecutive win at third doubles, 8-5.

Ahlberg was dominant at fourth singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win that completed an unblemished weekend for the junior. Conlon nailed down the only other singles point for the Knights with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at sixth singles.

Mount Saint Mary will try to end a two-match losing streak with a trip to Baptist Bible College on Wednesday. The match is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.
