NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Competing for the final time before the holiday break, the Mount Saint Mary College women's swimming team defeated Maritime College, 137-67, on Wednesday evening to improve to 4-2 on the season. The men's team dropped an 109-57 decision to the Privateers to fall to 3-3 overall.
Senior
Censi Danner (Saugerties, N.Y.) was the only double winner on the women's side, bringing home the 50 freestyle (26.11) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.27). Sophomore
Allison Wyatt (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) finished right behind Danner in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.62) and took first in the 100 freestyle (1:00.78).
Freshman
Meghan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.) kicked off the meet with a victory in the 1000 freestyle (12:20.27) and later placed second in the 100 freestyle (1:01.36). Sophomore
Alissa Keyes (Trumbull, Conn.) followed up Seaman's performance with a win in the 200 freestyle (2:24.25).
Sophomore
Deirdre Kenny (Brooklyn, N.Y) went the distance for the Knights in the 1000 freestyle (12:36.47) and 500 freestyle (6:04.44), earning second and first place finishes respectively. Following Danner's win in the 50 freestyle, junior
Brianna Perazella (Chesire, Conn.) raced to first in the 200 individual medley (2:32.68).
On the men's side, senior
Enrique Naudy (Monroe, N.Y.) was the lone winner. The senior earned victories in the 200 individual medley (2:12.92) and the 100 backstroke (58.88).
Both teams return to action on Wednesday, January 11 for a home meet against the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The Knights will host the Dolphins at 6:00 p.m.
