NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College swimming teams each had split results in today's dual meet against visiting Marywood University and Sarah Lawrence College. On the men's side the Mount dropped a 79-41 decision to Marywood, but were victorious against Sarah Lawrence with a score 73-44. The women also suffered a loss at the hands of Marywood by a score of 67.50-54.50. The Mount women earned a 92-30 decision over the Gryphons from Sarah Lawrence. The split results move the men's team to 7-2 on the season and the women are now 5-4 overall.
Senior
Brian Heitman (Ramsey, N.J.) brought home three individual events for the Mount. The senior won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 11:24 and clocked in with a winning time of 5:23.26 in the 500 freestyle. Heitman's final victory came in the 100 freestyle and fellow classmate
Daniel Courtney (Suffern, N.Y.) followed closely behind to solidify the one-two finish for the Knights. Courtney also earned a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 59.39. The other main contributor for the Mount was freshman
Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y.) who brought home three second place finishes. Dowd competed in the 200 freestyle (2:02.15), 50 butterfly (28.73) and 100 butterfly (1:03.89).
Junior
Censi Danner (Saugerties, N.Y.) was a big winner on the women's side, bringing home three individual events in addition to serving as the opening leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay team. Danner placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.35), 100 freestyle (59.50) and 50 breaststroke (33.81). The only other two individual winners for the Mount were sophomore
Kassie Kayal (Wayne, N.J.) and freshman
Allison Wyatt (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). Kayal earned a first place finish in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 29.95, while Wyatt placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:18.98). In addition to her win in the 200 freestyle, Wyatt placed second in both the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. The Knights 200 freestyle relay team composed of Danner, Kayal, sophomore
Rachel Johnson (Levittown, N.Y.) and Wyatt clocked in at 1:55.50 to capture first place in the event.
The Knights now look forward to another dual meet against SUNY-Delhi and SUNY Cobleskill. On Tuesday, January 25 the Knights will host the meet in the Kaplan Center pool.
