NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Snapping a three-match losing streak, the Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team defeated Sarah Lawrence College, 8-1, on Sunday in Cronomer Park. The Knights improved to 3-4 overall.

Kevin Ryan (West Islip, N.Y.) kicked off the doubles action with a 8-1 victory at first doubles. Senior
Brian Cangemi (East Northport, N.Y.) and freshman
Bryan Pujol (East Rockaway, N.Y.) followed up with an 8-0 victory at second doubles. The Knights collected a third point as Sarah Lawrence forfeited the point at third doubles.
Down the singles lineup, sophomore
Mike McNicholas (Marlboro, N.Y.) snagged a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles. Senior
John Como (Wingdale, N.Y.) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at second singles, while senior
Matt D'Angelico (Shelton, Conn.) played well in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles. Sophomore
Brian Murphy (Queens, N.Y.) took a tough loss at fourth singles, falling 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9).
The Knights return to the court on Tuesday as they'll host Yeshiva University. The match is set for a 7:30 p.m. start in Cronomer Park.
