NEWBURGH, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College men's tennis team lost just nine total games during a 9-0 sweep of the Sage Colleges on Thursday afternoon. The Blue Knights improved to 4-5 overall while the Gators dropped to 0-8.

Joe Meilak (Greenville, N.Y.) made quick work of his opponent at second singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Freshman
Zach Conlon (Huntington, N.Y.) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at third singles and freshman
Mike McNicholas (Milton, N.Y.) posted the same score at fourth singles. Junior
Brian Cangemi (East Northport, N.Y.), playing in his first career match, defeated his opponent at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Tom Curran (Washingtonville, N.Y.) took a 6-3, 6-1 decision at first singles. Junior
John Como (Wingdale, N.Y.) won 6-0, 6-2 at fifth singles for his sixth straight victory.
Down the doubles lineup, Curran/Meilak prevailed 8-2 at first doubles and Conlon/McNicholas swept away their opponents at second doubles, 8-0. Cangemi teamed with junior
Matt D'Angelico (Shelton, Conn.) for an 8-1 victory at third doubles. It was also the first career match for D'Angelico.
Up next for the Blue Knights is a crucial Skyline Conference match with Purchase College. The Blue Knights will host the Panthers on Friday, April 24 in a 6:30 p.m. start.
