NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College swimming teams remained unbeaten in dual meets on Saturday as both teams defeated King's College. On the women's side, the Blue Knights downed the Monarchs, 115-75, and on the men's side, the Blue Knights prevailed, 73-29.
Freshman
Brianna Perazella (Cheshire, Conn.) was a double-winner on the women's side. She broke her own week-old record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:31.35 and also captured the 200 individual medley in 2:23.55.
Junior
Christina Gulotta (Howell, N.J.) was one of three other individual event winners. Gulotta took first place points in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:25.35. Freshman
Kassie Kayal (Wayne, N.J.) was a winner in the 100 backstroke (1:10.92), while freshman
Jamie Testa (Prospect, Conn.) cruised to a win in the 100 butterfly (1:06.26).
Sophomore
Enrique Naudy (Monroe, N.Y.) was a double-winner on the men's side, taking the 50 freestyle (22.78) and the 100 backstroke (56.36). Junior
Brian Heitman (Rahway, N.J.) also had the fastest time in two events, winning the 100 butterfly (1:00.60) and the 500 freestyle (5:43.40).
Junior
Anthony Celano (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was a winner in the 200 freestyle (2:18.05) and junior
Ryan Carroll (Goshen, N.Y.) won the 200 individual medley in 2:27.80. Senior
Jay Matushefske (Garnerville, N.Y.) put in a nice swim in the 100 freestyle (56.80), missing a season-best time by two one-hundredths of a second.
Up next for the Blue Knights is a road trip to Drew University. Both teams will compete on Friday, November 20 starting at 6:00 p.m.
