Sophomore Carlos Valdez averaged 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds during the opening week for Mount Saint Mary. At the Golden Bears Classic over the weekend, Valdez averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in two games and was named to the all-tournament team. The sophomore totaled 13 points and 9 rebounds as the Blue Knights collected their first victory of the season on Saturday.
