Mount Saint Mary College Athletics

Brigitte Leyva took home first place at the Purchase College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, defeating 62 other runners in the 5K event. Her top-spot finish is the first big meet victory of her collegiate career and it helped lead the Knights to a first-place finish in the field of six teams.

The Knights will look to continue a successful start to the season when they partake in the Southern Vermont College Invitational in Bennington, Vt. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.
