Senior Greg Jacob had a perfect record in both singles and doubles play out of the top spot in the lineup in a 3-0 week that saw the Knights clinch their first-ever Skyline Conference men's tennis regular season title, earning him Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors. He grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles and an 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles in Wednesday's match against The Sage Colleges. Picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory in first singles and a hard-fought 8-6 conquest in first doubles on Saturday at NYU-Poly. He capped off his perfect week with a 6-3, 6-3 top singles win and 8-3 first-flight doubles win against St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Sunday.
The Knights are now one step closer to their first-ever undefeated Skyline record and first Skyline Championship since 2008. They will take on Purchase College on Tuesday, April 15, at 5 p.m. at Purchase with a chance to go 7-0 in Skyline play.
