Sophomore Lauren Becerra was awarded with the Skyline Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Year Award after leading the pack with 21 total points at the Skyline Conference Championships. She did so by taking first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:20.84), the 500-yard freestyle (5:29.53, a new Skyline Conference Championship meet record) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.29). She also swam the final leg of the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay (58.87, 3:57.85).
The Knights, who won their third straight Skyline title on Thursday, will next compete at the Metropolitan Conference Championships, which will take place from Feb. 14-16.
