BreLynn Nasypany

BreLynn Nasypany enters her second season as the head coach of the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team in 2015.

In Nasypany's first season at the helm, she continued the Knights' recent tradition of success and stellar defensive play. The Knights tied for the Skyline Conference Regular Season Title with perennial conference champion Farmingdale State College with a 7-0-1 record against Skyline opponents, and they went 14-5-1 overall in the 2014 campaign. The Knights ranked 41st in the nation with a .646 goals against average, and allowed just two goals in eight conference matchups. The Knights fell to Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference Championship finals by a score of 2-1. Nasypany coached five student-athletes onto the 2014 Skyline Women's Soccer All-Conference First Team, and one more to the Second Team. Freshman Destiny Ribadeneyra was named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-East Region Third Team. Senior Jordyn Catapano earned 2014-15 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-District 3 First Team honors, and freshman Bridget McKeever was dubbed 2014 Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
The women's soccer program is set for another strong campaign in the fall of 2014. The Knights finished the 2013 season with a record of 8-0 in conference. Nasypany is "eager to build upon the successes that the program has already seen while continuing to develop and foster growth in young women as both players and as people."
 
"I am very honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead the women's soccer program at Mount Saint Mary College," said Nasypany. "The athletic department's commitment to developing strong leaders as well as scholars through sport is something that I value as a former Division III athlete and coach."
 
In 2013, Nasypany served as an assistant coach for William Smith College women's soccer team and helped the Heron's capture the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Championship. That same year, the coaches earned NCAA Division III Coaching Staff of the Year and Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Nasypany also served as the junior varsity head coach at William Smith from 2011-13. The team earned an 11-0 record in the 2013 season and only allowed one goal against.  Nasypany has accumulated a wealth of knowledge from her time as a coach.
 
Prior to becoming a coach, Nasypany was a four year member of the women's soccer team and outstanding athlete at William Smith College. During her time as a Heron, she was selected All-Liberty League First Team four times. In 2007, Nasypany was selected Liberty League Rookie of the Year, NYSWCAA All-State and NSCAA All-Region Second Team.
 
In 2008, Nasypany earned the Stephanie Christie Award and was selected Liberty League Player of the Year. In 2008 and 2010, she was elected to NSCAA All-American First Team and earned ECAC Player of the Year. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 she was selected to the NSCAA All-Region First Team and ECAC Upstate All-Star First Team.
 
A native of Herkimer, N.Y., Nasypany graduated from William Smith in 2011 with a bachelor of arts in psychology with a minor in child advocacy. She is currently earning her master's degree from United States Sports Academy in sports studies.
